An independent review against recognized healthcare standards.
Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission is an independent, nonprofit standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. It accredits healthcare organizations after evaluating how they meet applicable standards related to quality, safety, care processes, and organizational performance. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recognizes The Joint Commission as a deeming authority for hospice accreditation; deemed status is an optional pathway, and this statement does not indicate whether Metro Medical Hospice uses that pathway. Organizations that achieve accreditation may display The Gold Seal of Approval® as a symbol of that achievement.
For patients and families considering hospice care, the Gold Seal provides an additional indication that Metro Medical Hospice has undergone an independent accreditation process focused on established quality and patient-safety standards.
